So I am trying to swap the forward controls on my 1999 super glide sport. The forwards on it are aftermarket and were on when I bought this motorcycle over the winter. I want to put on Harley Davidson brand forwards. I went on to Harley's website and according to them part number 49080-03A will fit. It also says it will fit "06'- later Dynas" on the website page. They also have part number 49021-09 which look pretty similar to the 49080-03A but in black. I would like to have the black set but the website says it doesn't fit. What's the difference between the 2? Why would one set fit all the way back to 1993 and as far as 2017 and the other set only "06-later" dynas? Any input is appreciated. Thanks
I think there is a mistake on their part. Go to this link and notice they have two clearly different listings for pre and post 2006 Dynas. About 3 pictures from the bottom, they use the exact part numbers you have. Boardtracker does not indicate any interchangability. I would also call a couple of dealer parts departments.
Obviously an error in the listing.
The 49080-03A should not be listed as fitting your bike, the small sentence above the fitment listing is; "Fits '06-later DynaŽ models with mid controls" but they only have the 2005 and down bikes in the drop down list.
It's a typo. Call a Harley shop parts department to confirm,, but there's something hing-key with that listing
Thanks for the input guys. I figured it was a typo but wanted to see what others thought of it. I had actually checked out boardtrackerharley the other day and they seem to state that one kit fits "05-older" and the black kit for "06-later". Looks like I'll be buying the chrome kit from boardtrackerharley.
