After hitting my deer, I have a TINY dent in my tank. Dealership says it will cost me (insurance) $1059.00 for a new tank. Dent is TINY.
What do you think a simple dent repair + custom - perhaps ghost flame job cost?
by the way - it needs a new front fender at $300.00. I figure I can get a custom fender for a fraction.
My Question - should I have them replace the paint/factory tank + fender for $1350 and KEEP my old tank or have something done? is $1350 enough for a front fender and paint? What have you paid for custom paint?
Buddy of mine had his bike backed over and dragged the day he paid it off. He had about a golf ball sized dent in the tank. How nothing else was damaged is beyond me. For a local guy to repair and paint it custom he paid $2500.
Here are a couple pics: Open up image and see yellow circle on tank. That is where the dent was.
i have a buddy that was in similar situation. check around the local dealers and see if they have any custom paint sets they are willing to deal with. My buddy got a complete set of HD custom paint for 1600. It was a leftover set someone ordered and didnt buy or something. really not sure. You may get lucky.
