Red face My Dyna SG needs shocks...

Coming up on 40,000 miles on my 2010 Super Glide {22,000 in the last 18 months that I have had it}. My bride and ride two up quite a bit at 325#. The current shocks are adjusted to the max setting and yet they are starting feel a little spongey {my Indie's choice of words after I had him take a seat and he is a pretty big guy}. No loose fillings... yet but railroad tracks, potholes and cattle guards are starting to take more of a toll.

I have heard good things about Super Shox but there are so many choices out there and am looking for info/experience with them or other recommendations. I/we ride about 15,000 miles a year mostly out here in the west {AZ, NM, CO, UT, NV, CA etc..}, so we see lots of serious mountain highways and more than my share of interstates.

Being an old fart I ride very conservatively and am just looking for comfort and control, smoother the better, in a quality pair of shocks. The front end seems fine and I recently had the forks flushed so no issues there. I'm about to replace my rear Metzler ME 888 after 13K+ miles and the front only has 7K on it.

So what do you like/recommend and why? thanks!

Progressive. Put a set on FXDWG and they are amazing IMHO.

Get a set of bagger air shocks off ebay for under $100. Change the oil to 15w fork oil. Get 2 schraider valves, one for each shock. An appropriate air pump and you'll love it.

If you don't need fancy fully adjustable shocks, I'd recommend the Hagon Road Shocks. They are inexpensive ($220/pair), ride smooth, and last a long time. The ones on my Street Bob have about 44k miles on them, and feel as good as new. I recently replaced the set on my Triumph Bonneville for fresh ones. The first set lasted over 70k hard miles, including some off-road, before they felt a little tired and the seals were starting to leak. Call Dave Quinn Motorcycles and he will custom assemble a set suited to your bike and riding style.
