I have a 2007 Fxdl with V&H Short Shots, a fuel pack and the stock air cleaner with a K&N filter. Will I see a difference performance wise if I go to a Screamin Eagle Heavy Breather? Thanx
Not that you probably could measure on the street. Both are pretty open. In fact, too open for some areas. Be sure it has oil on it unless it's their dry one. Just an opinion. K&N actually makes Harley's SE filter.

Other than aesthetics? maybe not. Question for ya... are you the one that put the Short Shots / Fuel Pak on the bike? did you notice a huge difference from stock? I'm considering that upgrade as I'd like a little more pop when gassin it.
Thanx for your help. damager1, yes I put the fuel pack and short shots on. Yes I did notice a difference. Hard to recall now how much because I only had the bike a short time when I did the change over. There is a huge difference in how loud it is now from stock. LOL I think its awesome but have to admit it is overkill. I don't know about anyone else's but mine got lots of pop. It is a fast bike!
The FP manages more fuel to the engine to get the "pop". There is debate about the K&N filter in the stock air box and the amount of air going through the engine. Where as the S/E intake will allow more air and you'll need to renter the canned map, that will add a bit more fuel to offset the extra air going in. More "POP"!
In a similar boat now, and a little paranoid I have no rain sock and will douse the filter during washes. I think getting an aftermarket sock from JP Cycles and K&N filter with the stock cover is the most practical route at this junction...
