Well, picked up the new bolt, retaining washer, which is a stupid piece of plastic, and went with the knurled thumb screw. I've got some small gauge electrical wire and if you tie the end with knot, drop the bolt thru it, then run the wire thru the hole from under the fender, just pull it straight up. No removing the fender...easy.

So no epoxy? How about a bit under the retaining washer to the fender? Or just leave it alone...

I didn't like using the Phillips head screw so I paid $20 for a HD thumbscrew. I had a lazy Indy that didn't tighten it, and it fell out.

Sk I bought a bag of Stainless Steel bolts, and lock washers. 1/4" 20 x 1/2". Problem solved.

I had the thumbscrew and then someone actually stole it and replaced it with a cheap allen headed one. At least didnt take my seat.

That's why I use an allen, don't want some *** to run off with my seat.

I said some *** to run off with my seat

Geez...I just bought the thumbscrew. Guess I'll buy an allen and keep it, just in case. Pretty sure no one would want my seat as its a reduced reach type. Unless they're a short little sh**t!!!

I have had a thumbscrew on my seat for years. Many older metrics didn't even have a locking type retainer. I don't worry about someone stealing my seat (and I worry about everything).

and a rubber washer to hold it in place.

I did this but bought a spare, I keep it in my battery box bag.
