Twincam, I have a set that is a direct replacment for SE 2 slip on baffles. I like the sound very much. Throttle response is a little beter but I didnt notice any extra tourqe, but I can say I didn't notice any loss either
Just put a set in last night. OMG are they louder than the stock baffles, but not straight-pipe "cackly". I am running a stock breather (right now) and have had the Stage I remap - still get a lot of backfiring when decelerating hard - otherwise, the bike doesn't miss a beat. Throttle response is much better and the motor pulls hard thru low-mid range (like they claim). Cruising to work this morning, I was passing people and not giving near as much throttle as previous. Overall - two-thumbs-up!
Thanks to all replying, I have drag pipes with (cut down)standard baffles in them. would like a little more deep sound, they are loud when you crack the throttle just not deep enough. Dave...
I know you're looking for feedback from folks with straight drag pipes who installed BTC baffles, but I just had to add, when I swapped out my SEII stock baffles with BCT baffles about 2 months ago, all I could do was laugh when I first fired the bike up. Guess it was more like a sneaker then a laugh. Yes, frick'n loud.
For drag pipes, if you think about it, the BCT have got to produce a lower deeper throaty tone compared to no baffles at all. Pipes with no baffles have a tinny or metal like sound and has that slight popping or bubbling sound. A baffle will muffle the sound. More like the glass packs folks ran in their muscle cars. But if you look at the straight through design on the BCT baffles, there's not much restriction, so they are still frick'n loud with out the tinny bubbling straight pipe sound. Don't get me wrong, I also like the straight pipe sound.
