Thoughts? Worthwhile, should I take advantage of someone willing to pay the dollars for the mods that I've done knowing that normally they mean diddly squat from a resale value perspective?
A year or so ago, I seriously considered selling mine and replacing it with a 70s shovelhead project. Then I went out for a ride on my Dyna and tried to convince myself I wouldn't miss it.
Since then, I've spent enough money on my Dyna that I could have bought a decent shovelhead.
I'll still own a shovel someday, but it will park next to my Dyna in the garage.
I'm dumping lots of money into my 09 superglide lately but still dream of owning an fxr with the same mods as my dyna as I know they would just work better on it lol it's a hard choice I love to make a bike mine and get a sense of accomplishment the first time I fire it up after it's all put back together!
I dunno, man. I have a 2017 FXDLS, own free and clear, with around 7k in mods(T Sport build). I had a guy a few days ago offer me $20k for it. It was tempting, but I could not do it. It sounds like you did the same, that is, took the time and the money and made it YOURS. There's something really special about that.
I have sold many vehicles in the past, a few nice classics that I put a lot of work into. Wish I would have kept several of them, especially that 71 Chevelle. Point is, I regret selling most of them. Consider keeping it...
