Default RE: Replacing rear shocks.

I believe the manufactures, using blueprints, measure center of thehole to center. But I just called Precission tech support, they know your sizeand will tell you the part number that you want, If you go shorter, they will give your that number. My 05 takes a 12.6" shock as standard replacement in their 412 line. I found them on ther internet and had them installed 3 days later.
Trying them out for the firsttime today.

When I put lower shocks on my Suzuki, I jacked the bike up and put a board under the back tire, took the shocks off, then added another board under the rear tire to get everything lined up where the new shocks would go. It was pretty simple.

Default RE: Replacing rear shocks.

Watch for binding on the top and bottom mounts; first set (412's on my Sporty) I ever put on were too tight and maybe not spaced right, one broke. Was a bit scary for me and the guy behind me (spring launched into the air). Installation details came with the shocks, but of course, were not read the first time. I use a lift made out of 1/2" pipe and fittings all the time, with a plastic tube over the part that contacts the frame...cheap and quick to use. Will pic and post later.....
