Default Down shifting issue?

When down shifting the shifter is not springing back up? It is a forward control bike and an 01 low rider.
I did spray the linkage with a lithium based lubricant, to see if it was the linkage and it still won't spring back up?
Thoughts...
Yes I searched and yes I did post basically the same thing on the tranny page.

Weak or busted spring on your shifter pawl assembly?... .or it's binding somewhere.

Why not pull the linkage off and see if the issue is coming from the trans. My guess is shifter pawl spring as well. It could also be the adjustment of the shifter pawl. Isn't there an Allen key bolt used for centering the adjustment.

On an 01, no shifter adjustment.

On the linkage at the rear, there are two small openings at the top and bottom of the pivet is the a grease fitting? Or breather hole?

Get yer boot off it.
aka: lift your foot to "allow" the shifter to lift

if it don't work,, kick it. It's a motorcycle with a foot actuated shifter,,
actuate it with your foot.
Whats the problem?

Yeah it's a forward control setup. The linkage where it fastens to the shift arm was all but froze. It to almost a half a can of wd40 to free it up. Going to take it off this Sunday and use a different lubricant on it that'll handle water and the weather.

As the bike was shifted down the rear privet wouldn't allow for the rod to Move back into position keeping it pulled forward.
