OTD Pricing Expectations?
What would you expect to be a fair OTD price for a 2017 FXDL with ABS and security?
Thanks

1-This is what I would do. Say you want to buy for the LR for 13,750. You make the offer for 13000. They will do their back and forth show saying whatever is the best they can do. Then you say 13.5 out the door is as much as you are going to pay and whatever they come back with you just stand up and walk away. That's the key, you have to be ready to walk away or you wont get the best deal. If they accepted fine, if they didnt you know where the bottom line is. They may offer 14,500, and you still walk away. After you walk away you make calls to other dealers with the bottom line price you got.
And you have to tell them they are the closest dealer to you, no matter how far away. They want to know that they make money off of your service needs. If they can beat it fine, if not, the original dealer will either call you or just call them back with a number very close to their bottomline
When you call always ask for a sales manager.
2- No matter how good the deal, always get free stuff. Tell them you want to include the first 1000 miles service in the sale. It costs the dealer less than $50 bucks to give you that deal. OR ask for a gift card ( I got $375) so you can buy whatever you need from the dealer.
3- Let us know what you got with pix. Good luck bud

That last part is what is negotiable. It's pretty hard to beat them at their game but you won't do it grabbing prices out of the air.
Whatever they finally accept, if you are happy with it, go for it. If not, walk. I have negotiated a dozen cars never paying sticker in the last 50 years. Never have done any good at a Harley dealer around here. Twice, they have been 4K above sticker with a lot of add-on stuff. I just walked. Never finance a hobby unless you are rich and your money is doing much better then the finance cost are. Good luck.
PS..never let them know you are paying cash till the deal is made, however. Always let the salesman think you are doing their financing.

If a new Harley gives you warm cuddly fillings go for it. If it's a hobby, I would just drive the 2011 till it drops. That should take 15-20 more years.
My 93 Hobby jeep has 290K on it. It is however all over the garage right now but will hopefully be ready for next summer.
