Offer them $14K for the FXDLS, or request $1K parts/accessories and/or extended warranty. Like others...FXDLS all the way, but I'm bias.

My thoughts exactly-just how long was the test ride you took on the M8 'Bob? I took an extended ride on one a few weeks ago: Smooth, great suspension, breathtaking torque, and stops on a dime. Looks? well, meh, I like them, but beauty is in the eye of the beerholder, so they say.

i avoided saying anything about the 18's because people get all silly about it. the 18s flat out ride better, better brakes, more tech etc, better lighting, .... better foundation for future expansion but, we still haven't seen the problem reports yet. the lrs is the closest in his self-imposed choices. the best buy... that new bike / break in stuff...

the sport glide has potential. i think they will probably drop a 114 with dual disks and call it the sport glide s or something later down the line. no idea why they would nueter it right out of the gate.

If the s was out when I bought my 14 fxdl I would have went with that to be honest. Also 15k on that leftover fxdl is too much in my opinion that's more than I paid for mine and I had some negative equity on my trade in and it was a brand new bike that just came out. I would expect a leftover 17 fxdl to be in the 14k range maybe a tad more

edit: just went back and looked I didn't realize it had abs/security so my original price estimate was off

doesnt really matter in this situation. Its not worth it with when comparing it to a lrs. All that crap and more is standard on the s.

I really can't even see what there is to be confused or deliberating about. Some guy that takes care of his sh** and loves bikes rode it 2000 miles.. so what? Drop a 117 kit in and it doesn't even matter anymore, you can break it in again... at 117! At this time, 117 isnt happening on an standard low rider 103 H.O. unless you get the cases bored. And the lrs is a stout 110, stock.

edit:
ok there is styling. Chrome heavy low rider might me a preference.

I'd certainly pick the S. With that low of mileage, already having two of the initial upgrades anybody would want (better exhaust, LED headlight), the 110 motor, the high flow intake, and the msrp difference on them new is about $2000 I think the 2200 miles only brings the value down half of that. I think the S is not only a better bike but that you are getting a much better deal on it.

Nope, I didn't die or crash it either ... but thanks for all the positivity!

I agree with the consensus between the FXDL and the FXDLS, the FXDLS is the best option. I was pretty much leaning that way the entire time, but wanted to do a sanity check with those on the forum.

I put a deposit on the FXDLS, this will give me a couple days to get my finances in order. In the meantime, I've also decided that before I make any final decisions I'd like to a take longer test ride on a 2018. Honestly, the test ride I took last week was far to short and admittedly, I find very little visually appealing about the 2018s and this may have swayed my initial reaction.

I'll keep everyone posted on my final decision. Thanks

To me, looks are just as important as the feel/soul of a machine.
