SE 103 kit with S&S 583 E-Z starts. Friends and I have 4 builds with E-Z starts; there is no other choice on a bike without ACRs in my OPINION. Period.

The reference to "need" is in relation to starting. That was the premise posed by the original poster.
He likes the specs of the 204 cams but thinks he must go to an Easy Start cam in order to have an engine that would start reasonable well. No, he does not need to do that. You do not need to avoid a 204 cam set in order to have an easy-starting engine. That's all.
If he wants something else for some other reason, then fine.
Anyone can buy whatever they want.

I had a chat with S&S, and they believe for my needs I should use the 583's. That info + the good advice I've seen here has helped me make my decision. 583's it will be.
