+1 with VEC, pull the plugs, if they clean with a little color to them, then your enrichener is closing when it's pushed in. Push in the enrichener as soon as the engine warms or you will foul the plugs. My 02 Superglide (FXD) has a 95" kit in it with cams and manages 37-40 mpg around town. Your fuel tank capacity is 4.9 gallons, eng is a TC88 (1450 cc). Always keep in mind your fuel mileage is in direct correlation with the twist of the throttle. Welcome from Holland, where in the mitten are you?
So I took the carb off and cleaned it , also replaced the vacuum piston.
Last tank I got 34 MPG, I don't think the enricher is sticking open, i took it all apart and it seems good.
Any more ideas, ( it has been a lot of fun "twisting" the throttle)
For the most part your plugs will tell you all you need, but mileage is a tough one....
....lots of variables...weather, road conditions, tire pressure, how long it idles before you ride, how hard you ride, city or hwy...every time you move the throttle....
the other part to this is how you are measuring your gas mileage. Reserve to reserve is probably the best bet over the course of a month. Doing only one time or twice tells you nothing....
So,one of my plugs, the rear, is quite a bit darker than the one in the front cylinder.
The bike seems to run real well and has plenty of power, it does idle a little rough, not sure if it is mis firing or if its just the Harley "lopping"?
I have not replaced the plugs, just cleaned them, it didn't seem to make a difference.
