Totally agree...fought with heated grips...years ago...on snowmobiles and 1/2 the time they wouldn't work when needed (lived/rode in MN = sub zero). When they created heated gear...my life changed!

now you need to get the heated jacket liner and controller. They are a nice as heated gloves are. Keeps you nice and toasty.

When I first got my heated gear it was gloves and socks. Had to run the wires under the jacket or the jacket and pants. PITA...

Then I got the heated jacket liner and heated pants. Now that's nice, no more feeding the wires through the garments, attached at each end is the connectors for gloves or socks.

The next thing i got was the wireless controller. Now this is a sweet set up. Controller attaches where you want, you can see where the setting is and able to adjust the setting much easier. Other wise it attaches to your belt and that is a PITA. You can't see where it set at and difficult to adjust while riding.

There is several brands out there, but I went with Safe and Warm heated gear.
Plugs in a connector that I have on the left side by my seat.

Nice thing is if I forgot to disconnect it, (which happens basically each time) it unplugs itself very easily with no damage.

The dials on the controller have at least 10 different heat settings, so you can really get the amount of heat you want.

I'm good with insulated stuff down to the mid 30s. I don't ride below that. Weather here is too unpredictable and they have a MAJOR love affair with salt. I just drive if the weather looks sloppy or too cold. ***** fair-weather rider, here! LOL!
not gonna lie, it does take some getting used to. The wires sucked to run at first, but now I strap the controller to my leg, and just run the wires in front of me. I hold the end of the wire when I put each hand through my jacket and that seems to make everything easier. Now that I've done it a few times it's easy.

Ad as far as forgetting to disconnect it before I dismount, having warm hands as opposed to frozen solid is a pretty good reminder for me.

Ranger73- they are insulated and waterproof but in the summer/rain my heated grips are more than enough. At the very most I'll also wear mechanix gloves.
