When looking at the 2007 owners manual I noticed that the cold oik full mark is lower then the how full mark. This does not make sense to me as when the bike sits the oil would gradually move down. And when hot the oil would sill be up in the engine. Am I wrong in thinking this?
the book seems to me to be *** backward.when i got my bike back from the 1000 mile check with the syn 3 in it.when cold it read full ,so i ran it till it got hot and it read 1/3 low after letting it sit for a few.
they say it will read more when hot ????ha

The 2006 manual had the oil and transmission plugs reversed.
you're technically right , but the majority in increased oil lever between cold and hot is due to the expansion of the oil when heated. thus, if you were to measure theamount of oil cold, andheat it, you would find that you then had more oil when it was hot.
