I installed a set of Kuryakan Iso Grips today and found the info from a thread on this board extremely useful. Also the pics and details about the right grip removal from the shop manual great.
There does seem to bit a more free-play in the throttle now (amount I can rotate before any increase in engine speed). Does anyone else notice that? I counted the threads on both cables and re-installed exactly the same. My idle is right about 1000 RPM, there is not much change on that adjustment.
For the left grip, just cut/peeled them off and used the complete contents of the small glue tube provided. All seems fine there.
Glad you didn't lose the little brass stops at the end of cable, I dropped one took me an hour to find it. grrrr
Actually I got the cable and attached ferrule out of the grip slot, then when I let go of the cable, it sprung back and the ferrule took off. I carefully followed the ping ping ping of things it bounced off of and found it just below the voltage regulator on the ground. Averted disaster.
I tightened up the throttle cable adjuster about 4 turns and took up the freeplay. Described on page 1-42 of the shop manual, thanks.
