I'd always say pv. If you know 100% you're not going past 2, then PC would do, but I'd still go pv personally, and a lot of people who "know" they're not going further, go further.

Do I need anything else or does the P.C. A plug and play. Is it a complete unit. Does the P.V. A plug and play or is there more to buy to program

The Power Vision is ready right out of the box; buy from Fuel Moto, they will pre-install a custom tune that will fit your bike's current configuration; they also include an articulating mount to mount the PV on your bars. The first time you connect the PV to your bike the PV will 'marry' to the bike, and save your current tune; from there you can flash the new supplied tune and you're on your way. There is a Target Tune option available but out of the box the Power Vision is full featured and ready to roll.

The Power Vision has some very nice features to it, such as the ability to auto tune, gauges, reading DTC codes, etc. I'm still discovering all the great things this tuner can do The PV will come with a nice software program called 'WinPV', there is a Power Vision client update feature that let's you keep your PV's firmware up to date; before you marry the PV to the bike install the software and be certain you've got the latest firmware updates.

If I sound like I'm in love with my Power Vision, you'd be right

Tough call, let's just start with Fuel Moto IS the place to make either purchase.

I'm running a canned tune PCV on an 09 FXD with stage 1 and I'm content,, Jamies tune did give the bike a little more snort and I know I could get a little more out of it with a pro-dyno tune using the PCV.
But,, I'm not going to add cams to this bike,, Stage 1 and I'm done and I know it.

So your dilemma isn't about which tuner really,, it's about how far you intend to go with it.
If your going to go with cams then go the extra cost all the way,, trying to save a few hundred when you want the most performance out of your bike doesn't work well.

As everyone else has said, the power vision is a very easy tuner to use.
I too was in the market for a new tuner and pulled the trigger on a PV during FuelMoto's black friday sale (it was too good of a deal to pass up!)

I have used Power Commanders, Vance and Hines Fuel Pak, and Thundermax. This was my first time using a PV and it was as easy and convenient as everyone makes it sound.
Even if you do decide to stop at a stage 2, you may not be happy with your first cam choice, or perhaps you want to swap exhaust systems down the road. The PV makes it extremely easy to retune your bike after these changes.

I was at first skeptical about spending a lot of money on a tuner because I do not have any plans to do motor work on my current ride, but if you wait around, someone usually has a good deal on them.

My 2 cents, I like the ease and convenience of the power vision. One tuner, one cable to the data port, flash the bike, turn it off for ten seconds, and your good to go. Plus there is always the option of mounting it to the handlebars for an auto tune session or to monitor other aspects of your bike (engine temp, rpm, etc)

been using regular old power commanders on my bikes for over 10 years. Fuel moto will put a map on a PC-V as well.

Unless you have lots of spare money, I would just opt for the regular old power commander. I think mounting a power vision or cell phone mount ruins the classic look of most Harleys.

Ah Hah!

the PV doesnt have to be left on the bike for the bike to still run!
