Two issues
1 - HD bearings are ****
2 - Moco does not grease/ pack em for ****
Solution
Swap to timken
The bigger - pull the wheels off..., remove the bearing dust cover - and pack em real good w/ grease

i tried the new hd metal bearing on my sporty when i put on the roadster wheels and had no issues ....................... but, after see your story, i'm swapping them to timkin 205pp during the coming tire change

I changed mine at 10k miles. When HD went to the 25mm axle the bearings got smaller and they picked junk China bearings to put in.
Reason I changed was I went to alloy wheels. I was surprised at how worn/ loose the OEM bearings were. Opened them up to find absolutely no grease. There are pics some where here on the forum about them. I installed All ***** brand bearings with the new wheels and I checked them when I had new tires put on another 6k miles later and they were still alright. But I have a set of Timken (205PP's) that I'll be putting in next tire change.
