so Im at a standstill with software for this SERT. THE CD ROM INDICATES THAT IT IS VERSION 4.53. This is pretty old from what I can see. I cant even track down a link to V477 as they al seem to have been taken down. Am I wrong in assuming that my 2010 fxdb doesnt recognize the old software that came with the SERT. The software wont even open when all cables are hooked up and ignition is turned on.
So after several times of trying to disconnect and reconnect I got it to open. The only file choices I have on the software are shown below. I picked one for an 06. I clicked GET ECM DATA and then PROGRAM ECM. Then the second window popped. Maybe my earlier hunch was correct. I need more recent Files?
Can't help with the SERT software, but I know those USB>DIN adapters can be flaky. I had issues with comms on my Win7 PC using one to connect to a Megasquirt. DIY Autotune sells one that is supposed to good but I ended up buying an old refurb laptop with native 9 pin DIN. Perfect after that.
sorry jay Im not following you there. Im not the most tech savvy
On the icon where you launch the program, right click it and left click properties. There should be a Compatibility tab or section. In there will be a label that says Windows XP. Check the box next to it and left click OK. Then try to run the program. You may have to interpret those instructions a bit as I am not right in front of my computer at the moment.
