i have a 2001 Harley Davidson dyna police defender. we put new tires on it and rode it to make sure the tires felt the way they should, all was good. we got ready to go for a ride the very next day and it would not start, there was no click no nothing. the lights do work, but will not start. can you please help me??? I really need my bike to start.

 

First...
Check to see if you flipped off your Engine Stop Switch located on your handlebars, to the Stop position. If so, flip back to the run position.

 

no didn't flip the switch. we're don't have a clue what could have happened over night.
I mean everything as all good and working on Saturday, got ready to ride sunday and
the bike would not start.

Check fuses. Check battery volts using a voltmeter.

 

Call the place that put the tires on and take it to them to diagnose....I'm guessing this is beyond your skill set....If not then start with the basics...Battery, switch position , key......

 

Okay so the lights work but you hit the start button and no clicking noise? If you look at the right handlebar I will be a switch. That is probably your problem.

 

How old is the battery ?
