damn right. i got lucky two weeks ago when my oil filter adapter decided to stop adapting and torpedoed my filter and sprayed oil all over me, my back wheel/tire, and everything between. coulda ended badly
Seems like PO cut corners...might want to double-check every aftermarket part they added to bike...
For the pipes, make sure you don't over-torque the clamps & "oval" them (or header). Once that happens, pretty hard to not have annoying leak(s). Might be time to shop for exhaust upgrades...
at least they came clean off and got clear of the bike. sh** could have totally played out differently. be thankful.
Pre-ride t-clocs.... try to make it a habit, better to catch it in the garage....
Yes, "T-CLOCS!" The only thing I would add to this is check your brakes.
This doesn't just mean squeeze the lever or press the pedal either. This means get down and inspect your brake pad material thickness and condition. Yes, your life does depend on it!
While stuff can happen, it happens a lot less with regular inspections. Pilots do a walk around before every flight. Every flight.
Stakes are just as high on motorcycles, so it makes sense to place the same amount of importance to it.
Only 1 way this happens . Not installed correctly.
Yeah if new or recently installed otherwise if this happened to me, I'd be pissed off at myself for not catching it in my pre-check. I've had slip-ons loosen over time but you catch it and tighten before it ever gets anywhere loose enough to fall off.
they both shot off at the same time with the support bracket?
Yes.... both mufflers with the support bracket still on them. Now when I reinstalled them I had to dismantle the mufflers from the bracket. Set the mufflers into the pipes then add the support bracket and tighten all up....super f&cking tight, but there's no where the mufflers or s. brackets gets bolted to the frame. Seems the two clapms to the header pipes are the only means of keeping them on

Gonna have to checkout the manual to see if I'm missing something. And now I definitely have exhaust leaks. The tips to slide over the h.pipes were all messed up , had to bang them right to fit over them

Have you had this bike from new on? There was a bracket that attached to the frame some where. There is no way the the Muffler clamps were designed to support them. If that was the case the header would break from the stress. What I have seen on bikes like my FB. Some one changes exhaust and leaves the frame mount parts off because it is easier.
It seems another frame bracket is missing.
