Well today I decided to go for a ride beautiful day here in Southwest Florida. get on the main drag of about 2 miles all of a sudden the motorcycle gets really loud, I'm like what the heck looked down and I have no slip ons they're gone pull the bike over start walking back Where she started to get loud I see my slip on's screaming eagle twos laying in the middle of the highway, 2 Lane Rd. Pick them up walk back to where the motorcycle is now how do I get them back from there I am. driving one-handed shifting with no clutch, thank God I could take back roads to my house unbelievable, I never guessed when you buy a used motorcycle to check and see if your slip ons are fastened correctly. All scratched and dented, but I got them reinstalled them tighten them up real good, I'm good to go on believable by screaming eagle twos are trashed oh well I'm alive the motorcycles alive so what are you gonna do. Still a beautiful day here in SW Fl.

I’ve seen it before....on my buddies bagger....left one came off at hwy speed, thankfully it didn’t hit anything....they shake like crazy...make sure they are tight...
I run a Thunderheader so no issues of it falling off, and I do check the bracket at least once a month...
I had that happen on my wide glide but, it was the bottom bracket snapped in half and my lower pipe went down the road. Like everyone said carrying bunggees will save a lot in a pinch
Back in the day . . . if something fell off and ya heard it or a buddy saw it, check front & rear brakes to see if they work. Try the clutch, shifter and throttle. If ya got that stuff workin, whatever fell off ya just didn't need.
I was racing across a bridge with a bunch of other bikes and the FZR in front of me had its exhaust come off and it bounced off the highway and actually flew past my head. The exhaust missed me by about a foot, which at speed is too damn close for comfort. Several of the guys near me thought I was dead when it was coming at me. After the bridge I dismounted and sat on the side of the highway with several others and smoked (back when I did smoke) about half a pack. lol.
I didn't relize that they were not attached to the frame and only held on by the clamps to the header pipes. Gonna check my Sporty's system too just to be sure. Now they don't look good any more so now I'm gonna be searching for some slip'ons that give me a good note. Not what I had in mind

that's not right. there should be a support bracket attached in at least two places
