Yup...blew one of the slip ons' off my sportster, blew the head pipe out of the head in my fatbob and cracked a mounting bracket on my bagger causing the center to slip apart.Something about that constant pressure and continuous rattling that makes a Harley rider carry parts collectors!

Default traction engine

I had my pipes come off the front cylinder once. I had no idea what was going on. It sounded like I was at the county fair with a traction engine. It showed me the importance of checking "critical fasteners".

It seems another frame bracket is missing.
Going to check the underside today. Bought the scoot from Dealer used as is. My mistake not going over the exhaust, never thought anything could be wrong there

Well crawled under the bike, and no noticeable holes on the frame or the slip'ons.the header pipes are each bracket to the frame right at the slip on joint (end) but not on or to them. The pair of slip'ons are bracketed to each other the only thing holding the pair of slip'ons is the 2 clamps into the header pipes. If you look at the pic of my exhaust, right of the joint of the on the header side is where the h. Pipes are connected to the frame. All is really tight now and secured. If you ask me it's a bad disign.

Now that I'm looking at more pics of my exhaust I'm noticing that the slip'ons are not all the way onto the header pipes, there's a good 1 1/2 inch space.....looks like they were not inserted all the way onto the h.pipe! Bingo! Someone....dealer or person who did work to the exhaust didn't install them correctly. Now there is no gap between the joints. Look closely see if you can see the difference

2nd to last is reinstalled
