Well I was finally able to pick up my 05 Dyna Custom on saturday after all the rain in the east. I had taken it in for it's 1K check up and to have the Harley reduced effort clutch kit installed. The labor on the 1K was free with a coupon I had from when I bought the bike. All tolled it cost $278. That was all the necessary products for the 1K (Syn3, gaskets, etc), the clutch kit and all gaskets, replace fork oil with SE heavy duty oil and take rear shocks up two clicks. (was bottoming out with the wife on) All I can say is when I got on the bike to leave, I thought they forgot to hook up the clutch cable. It was like there was nothing there it was so easy. I can't believe the difference. If the EZ pull is like this then by all means get either one you prefer but get one of them. What a dream to ride now. All in all I feel I got a real good deal on the whole service deal. I was expecting a much higher bill. I would rate Classic Harley Davidson in Reading Pa as a good dealer. Of course now that I took advantage of the free labor on the 1K and all I will be doing all the future oil changes myself Zero dollars labor is better than having to pay any at all. Thought I'd share a good dealer experience, and my opinion on the clutch kit.
Ride safe
Reduced effort clutch in a box sitting on my kitchen table.
Good place for it, sittin in the damn box....lol.
C'mon Crow! Last time I looked "installs itself" was not one of the features of the new clutch.
I hate to beat a head horse but I can't emphasize enough what a positive difference this new clutch makes - especially if you ride in much stop/go traffic.
Nice ride and interesting comments on the reduced effort clutch....Would like to hear the other opinions from you other guys when you install it...Thanks...
I installed an EZ Clutch in my bike a few weeks back. Wasnt hard to install at all and the difference it makes is HUGE. Bike feels totally different. While I was down in the primary I changed the oil to the new HD Formula + Tranny and primary oil and I can't believe how she slides right into gear without any noise, clunking. Big difference than before. Pretty soon I will be bringing my bike in for the 1000 mile service and I am going to have them use the same stuff in the Primary and the Heavy Duty front fork oil. Holding off on synthetic engine oil until 1500 miles because I plan on chaning it myself at 1500 and than every 3000 thereafter....
I picked up the bike Friday afternoon. The easy clutch is really an improvement, but I was hit with sticker shock. I don't know how everyone else is doing it, but this thing cost me about $250 installed.
