Affordable performance shocks. *NEW GUY*
NVM I guess I have to be a member for 5 days before I can PM.
Wanted to know what weight and height those shocks are for.
Thanks!
Then, it'll be more engine mods.
Then you'll have to replace HD's dismal brakes.
Then driveline mods, which brings us back to suspension again.
Trying to mod a cruiser into a sportbike is a losing compromise at best.
Just ride it as it was designed. As a cruiser. It will be happier, you likely will be happier too.
If you still want snappy performance with an upright riding position, there's always the FZ1 and Duc and BMW XR1200...

You make some interesting observations, and you are right in some aspects.
Sadly FXDs have **** frames (FXR is a dif story) and everything else is a bit rough as well. That being said, not many bikes are as much fun to ride as a Dyna, and I've riden almost every type.
The only thing that cannot easily be fixed is the shitty frame, and its only shitty because the tranny supports the swingarm, otherwise the feel and handle is fine. The brakes are an easy mod, and one that's at the top of my list, because the stock brakes are truly crap.
I tell you brother, once you get your FXD/FXR dialed it (tranny mod, rims, dual rotors, shocks, controls, seat, motor build, etc), it is a damn great bike to ride, and I think the best that Harley has ever produced. Hell, even on a stock FXD I smoke fools on sportbikes all day long (not on a straight of-course). Why? Because its 90% operator and 10% machine
And who's to tell me how to ride my bike? Only me.
imho, NOTHING is sexier than an American bike carving the streets.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I always enjoy fresh points of views. Keep her shinny side up
Like the above poster said, its 90% rider but you also need confidence your horse wont buckle under pressure.
these bikes r money pits...enjoy ! Oh....and we havent even gotten to talking about fork inserts yet....

hell yeah B!
I run the 14" ones and love them. Great shock for the money. That with Racetech springs up front makes for a solid bike in the corners. Is it a Ducati? No, obviously, but a million times better than stock IMO...
Would love to run RacingBros cartridge kit up front, if money wasn't an issue...
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
I went with Hagon Nitro 13" and bought Bitubo 13" for my wife's bike. There is an Ohlins option that Howard sells in this price range, but it does not have rebound adjustment. For bang for the buck, the wife and I are quite happy with the shocks we're running.
