Default Slip-ons 2010 super glide

Hey all, I’m sure this has been asked before but I Want to ask anyways. I’ve got a 2010 super glide custom stock air filter and exhaust. I want to put on a exhaust but to save money was thinking about slip ons. My question is, if I put on slip ons do I need a power commander as well? From a little research it seems you only really need a power commander if installing full exhaust and air cleaner. Any input much appreciated.

Find a set of slip ons that have the sound you want and put them on. You won't need to tune it, but the bike will always benefit from a tune.

If you wanna go cheap stage 1, use ViEDs instead of a power vision/FP3 etc.

I'd put the slip-ons on and call it good, in fact I did on my bagger. Since then I've added a free intake and FP3 tuner. Take a picture of your plugs ,drive about 500 miles pull your plugs and compare to the picture you too took. Since they are letting more exhaust out and not leaning out the engine. The O2 sensors and ECM should be able to make the adjustment. Wouldn't hurt to use new exhaust clamps on the mufflers.

My intention is to get a set of slip ons now, then probably in a couple months I’ll get an intake and the power commander. I just don’t want to screw anything up.

You won't break it with a pair of slip ons. Tune isn't necessary. Nice to have, but not necessary.

If budget is a issue, you might want to try drilling or gutting the mufflers first.
From my experience Vance and Hines Stright Shot slip ons are LOUD
