Rode up to connecticut to visit a cousin last week. All in all, put around 2200 miles on the new wide glide. Rode her hard. I mean real hard. Ran anywhere from 75 to 85 all the way up, occasionally faster for short time periods. It was hot as hell, the kind of heat that feels like a blast furnace. I sat in two traffic jams that put the bike into overheat, and spent hours at highway speeds over 80.
It never used not one drop of oil. The line was square on full when I left, it was square on full when I returned. I took the air filter loose to look inside, not one drop of blow by oil on the backplate. I'm impressed, every harley I've owned in the past, including the 06' would have used some oil being run that hard, that long, at those temperatures.
Best mileage was 46, worst was 41.
Running cycle shack slip on's, screaming eagle backplate with zippers air filter element, and the thundermax autotune ecm.
It's nice to hear a positive report for a change. Seems like most posts deal with what has went wrong with the bikes. Makes a guy kinda nervous having committed to such a huge purchase for such a long time and hear all these horror stories about the same or similar bikes. Glad to hear your WG ran like a top through it all. It's very encouraging.
Yeah, it works. At first it didn't, but there are a couple of settings you have to get right, then it will work. Just have to read the directions closely.
