chrome VS. zinc
I was thinking of getting my console chromed problem is there are no places to get it done.There is a place that does zinc plating.What exactly is zinc plating?Is it shiny or is it dull? and help would be good

zinc is used in galvanizing metal, if there is a lot of zinc in it it will be shiney but not shiny like chrome it will look more like silver paint and then it will dull from the humidity

Do a google search - there are plenty of places you can send your console for chroming, not cheap but easily done. There are even some posts on this forum of several who have done this.

I used to work in a custom chrome shop and definitely recommend chrome for this, or a shade of black.
With a good chrome job you're getting a quality layer of nickle then the chrome.
A good shop can even give you a shade of chrome, i.e. Golden.
