I've always wondered if a sport bike with let's say 100hp would be much faster than a dyna with 120 hp, all stock, specially the gearbox, notice the extra 20 hp on the HD to compensate the extra weight, most sport bikes rev up way higher than any HD ever did but it's true that there are HDs out there pushing 150hp in just 6200 rpms
I have a dyna with 118 hp and cars with +220hp couldn't fly away from me, its gold to see the driver face like "WTF is up with that harley" while they try to accelerate even more, I have to admit that when i twist the throttle on mine I better grab the handlebar if I dont wan't to fly out the bike, that thing pulls like a demon

My Dyna and my Speed Triple probably aren't that far off with horsepower (105 at the wheel vs. 130 at the crank - maybe 12 hp apart?), and the HD makes quite a bit more torque. The Triumph is radically faster.
I've pulled a stretched busa for a few gears out of the hole. I knew when to let off tho. 3rd gear and he caught me..
It really depends on the rider when it gets down to it. Most sportbikes are more than most riders can handle.

Im no Valentino Rossi but Ive been riding this bike for quite a while. I know how she likes to break tire and how much throttles needed to holeshot. Thats only a 6 arm so theres enough weight displaced to the rear that it will grip sooner than later and once it hooks thats Game Set Match......
I have some seat time at a few local tracks and surprised the hell outta that guy.
I started on Kawi triples in the 70's then Ninja's in the 80's. My last one was a 2000 ZX12R.
