New Harley owner (2009 FXDL), and recently started riding street.
Heading up to Sierra Stake Out if I can get my bike in order.
Quick question, I got some risers for my bike and have installed a new bushing kit while doing so. The only thing is that I didn't use the bolts that came with the bushings that have a tapered head, and instead used a bolt with a flat head (because I prefer wrench/socket over a hex key). https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/...er-bushing-kit
I've attached some photos because I'm slightly worried with the way the rubber is coming out.
Should I be worried? I still have a little tightening to go.
At first glance it looks like you've got a cupped washer upside down... also, are you tightening with a torque wrench... or just your calibrated elbow?... 'cause your elbow will lie to ya ...
I think you need the standard "cup" washer that is used with hex-head bolts as opposed to the allen bolt cup supplied in the Alloy Art kit you have. See below pic:
I said the hell with it and went back with the hex bolts that came with it. The rubber is coming out just a tad but looks much better (and after swapping I like the hittin look of the tapered bolt anyway =)
