Default Small things make a big difference.

Hi All,
I ordered the polished bolt kit from Diamond Engineering. I planned to replace the bolts when I change dmy new pads. Today was the day and here are the results.

Before (left side)

After (Right side-forgot to take pictures before I swappe dout this side )

Pictures don't really do it justice but either way it looks nice for only swapping out 8 bolts.

Only question I have is regarding loctite for the caliper cap screws. There was no threadlocker on the factory ones so I didn't put any on the replacements. Since the cap screws are stainless and the threads of the caliper aluminum I didn't know if I should have put maybe a drop just to be on the safe side. Any ideas?

J.

You should have, or put anti-sieze.

Did you have to take the calipers apart or get any leaking from the inner screws (the allen head bolts)?

If I recall I put a tiny (and I mean tiny) amount of blue loctite. No leakage whatsoever, just take out one bolt at a time and replace with new bolt. There was no antiseize on them from the factory.

Thanks! I got my bolts today, but the bike is still in the shop getting repainted from them scratching the hell out of the bags and gouging the fairing.

I can't remember the torque specs I used though. You may want to call and ask. It wasn't a lot if I recall, maybe 10ft.lbs or something like that.
