2014 Fat Bob - Inherited Quick Detach Backrest, Deciding mount system
I already have a sissy bar I am going to buy some hardware to repurpose. I do plan on detachable saddlebags in the future. I guess Easy, Ghost, and Barebacks can all be made to work with the Harley Backrest setup? Is there a solution that will look better (closer to bike) out of them where I can get just one set of docking hardware from the same vendor, that will support the backrest and bags? Or do they all mount through the Harley backrest with longer bolts?
The guy I bought my bike from gave me a sissy bar off his ex-wifes bike. It looks the width is a touch too narrow. I think my side brackets and back rest foam are right judging from online (I figured either the side brackets or the backrest posts would make it wider it was so close), so i was just going to buy these pieces, but I want to be setup for the future.
Thanks in advance. I really tried to figure out everything on my own. But I'm getting confused making sure everything will work together and be aesthetically pleasing.
You are correct its the sissy bar that differentiates between the thinner and wider fenders not the side plates so buy this and swap the side plates over and you'll be golden.
FYI I have the high sissy for my fattys Passengers like it and I can strap a butt load of stuff to it.
