oil temp gage
I saw several oil tem gages at the HD dealier that replace the oil cap, but I did not see one that screwed in which is what I need for my 06 Dyna Super Glide Custom. Has anyone seen one that will work with this model?
Also how hot is too hot for this motor?

They don't make them yet for the 2006 models. In fact they don't even have chrome replacements yet. I suspect it will only be a matter of time before they have them. The sooner the better as I'm waiting too.

The question you ask regarding oil temp is a good one for me, too.
I run a full synthetic motor oil and I have a H-D oil cooler and a dip stick with the LED temp readout for my oil temp.
But I really don't know what my oil temp should be.
I'm sure there are lots of people on the forumn who have that information.
