I guess the best way to learn this unit is have turned on with the bikes ignition and phone connected (keep the tender plugged, the headlights will pull down the battery) and look for what switches you can control, how to change throttle settings, etc.

So on the ‘14 when you activated it did the “cruise control” light come on? I activated mine thru the FP3 and nothing happened on the speedometer cluster but when I was in stop and go traffic later on it felt, smelt and sounded like it was active but not 100% sure.
