So I contacted the guys/gals at Saddlemen and explained what I wanted out of a seat. We came up with the Explorer LS and I couldn’t be happier. Super fast completion on the seat and it feels great on the initial two up ride with my wife. Can’t wait to get miles in the saddle and get this seat broken in real well.
Thanks Saddlemen, your customer service has been second to none and the product is outstanding.
That seat looks great with the blue stitching. I have the same seat just plain as well as a step up from them as well both amazing seats for their purpose. Once you get the seat broken in you will love it even more.
Excellent! I just gave them a call a couple of weeks to inquire about custom dimensions for that same seat w/ a backrest. How does it change your seating position as compared to the stock seat?
Cryingjoker - I'll be picking up another seat for solo rides from them. The Step Up looks great, I may see if they can do a custom based on one of those.
rauchman - Seating position was really hard for me to tell an honest answer to. The factory seats don't really have a "positive" rider position and I seemed to float in the saddle. I'm a bigger guy at 6'0 but 270 and wear 38/32 jeans. The new seat has me in a damn near perfect spot. The factory seat I could squish the "lumbar" if you want to call it that and over a period of time I'd get sore on my tailbone and then realize I was too far back and had to move forward. Then I felt like it wanted to lay me back in a recliner. This seat feels great, it's flat and a positive spot.
