Park a Dyna next to a 'tail or a sporty. The Dyna looks like a harley should. It's not trying to be a hardtail (like the hidden softail susp.). From a riding standpoint, the low centre of gravity and the big twin make it go nice and fast.
Not a lot of people know what a dyna is- they all know soft-tails and sportsters. I got asked if mine was a sportster just this morning.
Sporties and Softies are nice bikes, don't get me wrong, but there's just something about a dyna...
I agree with everything that has been said about the Dyna's versatility. Two points that haven't been made yet:
1. The Dyna Superglide is the most affordable Big Twin.
2. Dynas have a rubber mounted motor, unlike the counterbalanced Softails. This means your motor will vibrate like a Harley at idle, but become silky smooth at speed. Some people, including me, love this.
The one thing which a Dynadoes not do wellis long two-up touring. Not enough passenger leg room. If that is what interests you, you would be better off go straight to a member of the Touring family--Electraglide, Road King, etc.

i agree it says harley all over it. it's like it has been said you can load her up and take off down the road or you can strip her down for around town.or you can take her out back and pull tree stumps out . there is no bike that is all around like the dyna i may catch crap but in my book it's the best of the best.
I owned 2 Dyna's a 99 FXDX and an 02 FXDWG3 , loved them both.very good all around bikes for sub 400 mile days especially riding solo. I just traded the WG3 in on a 07 Street Glide , which while a bit more porky at low speeds is a lot more comfy and stable at anything over 20
love my dyna !!! but yea i see a lot of other bikes i would love to have if i had one million $$$ .
ever have one of those perfect days. > just one of those days where the bike seems to be running so perfect.weather is perfect and you never want the ride to end ..i had that ride last evening !!!!! there was 3 of us riding.
does this sound stupid or do thers feel this way sometimes ?
perfect ride.......... perfect bike ..............................................
As stated when I started this post, I'm a complete newcomer to bikes and lucked into the Dyna. Took my very first spin yesterday around the neighborhood.....WOW do these bikes have a lot of pep. Keep in mind they taught us on a little 250 Kawasaki when I took my training course.
I will definitily have to keep her in the area and get used to her before I venture into traffic.
But what a blast........I'm looking for that perfect ride. I'm sure it will come.
