I have a 2007 FXDC and I installed new SE II's about a month ago. I like the sound.
Make sure you torque the clamps, and re-torque after the bike is hot. A rider I know with a 2007 Low Rider did't and his mufflers fell off. That's also why the SE II's come with pop rivets.
They were the first slipons I put on my 07. I was "okay" with the sound but wanted more. I changed to V&H slipons and now on to V&H Big Radius.
When I first put the SE II's on, I could definitely tell a difference in sound over stock. However, when you get around other bikes with louder pipes, they don't sound quite so "hot", IMO.
You can modify the baffles or even change them to big city thunder baffles to get more sound as well.
Let me also say that there must have been different versions of those mufflers put out. Mine were brand new in a sealed box and the baffles were not riveted in - they were held in with screws, therefore, easily removeable even though I never did. I also did not torque the clamps, hot or cold, and never had a problem with them getting loose.
I have some older SE II slip-ons and think they are the chit! I had Rush slip-ons with 1.75â baffles before and found them a great sound but too loud for my taste. Bought some SE II off of ebay for $80 and am very pleased! Not as loud as the Rush but loud enough! I would recommend going to the stealer and pick up some new muffler clamps and as mentioned a few times before tighten cold then hot! Enjoy!!!!
I have a set of the SE II's on my '07 Super Glide. They didn't come with any baffles when I bought them ($40 from a member here). They were a little scratched, polished them up and they were alright, but I ended up spraying them black with the rest of the exhaust. The pipes are loud, I frequently set off alarms and such. When I start it up at work my fellow co-workers can hear it and say it rattles the windows (I work in a 4 story office building, on second floor lol).
They sound really good though, but I would really love to get a set of Supertrapps installed at some point
Buddy of mine has SEII's on his 07 FXDWG and I have Cycle Shack's on my 05 FXDI, both with a/c change and download. My pipes are louder and deeper, my bike is just a little bit faster (we don't dyno-tune),
his bike sounds good under throttle but when just out puttin around pretty tame.
