Default Dyna Defender 04

Ripped the lowering kit off the rear and threw some 12.5-13.5 Drag specialities adjustable shocks.
Front forks seem low to me as well now i'm thinking previous owner lowered both front and back.
Having a hard time finding the original sizes as well as suitable aftermarket options.
Any suggestions to raise the front would be greatly appreciated!

The easiest way to get a little height in the front end is to drop the tops of the fork tubes even with the top tree. Then you could put in ricor intiminators, they would lengthen the preload on the front end by 5/8 of an inch.

The proper way to lengthen the front end would be to get over sized length tubes and add spacer length.

It does look lowered ... maybe the PO just put a lowering kit in the Front with the existing tubes ... that was popular.

You may know just by pulling the springs and Damper rods.

Appreciate the insight, I don't think i can drop the tops of the fork tubes any lower, best bet will be new oil and springs i'm thinking.

You will not gain much height just by changing springs, all you are going to do is end up with a shorter spacer....like Jason said, the proper way to lengthen is with longer tubes, now you can get fork tube extensions, is that the proper way, not sure, just remember steering is a safety issue, its not cosmetic so any changes need to be thought out prior...you life depends on it

Let me try this again with possibly more clarity ...

A popular way of lowering the front-end of bikes has been to retain the original fork tubes and install an additional top-out spring or 2 (so 2-3 total) under the "Head' of damper tubes along a shorter Main spring effectively "sinking the tubes" by an 1-2". Progressive has sold many of those kits. They have since come out with "Drop-in" kits which does away with adding an Extra top-out spring, but still uses a shorter Main spring along a Compensating spring above it.

So... If either of those two methods were used, then it would easy to revert back to original height by reversing the process.

Again ... if it was "lowered" that way ... it was/is more popular than replacing with shorter tubes

.

Bottom line...gotta tear 'em down and see what you're starting with.
