I bought the one for my brothers about a month ago 695 from eastern...... now i go to them for mine and theywant 708 and they wouldnt price match it. they said that they had an increase in price. so i got them to knock 20 bucks of the big guns for me quite happy with em. they said that the price is only gonna be going up from there
Another for Thundermax. I just installed mine about 2 weeks ago now. I think I paid 699 from American Classic Cycles oneBay. Bike is running great. I installed it in less then an hour. Worst part is altering the electrical caddy but even that isn't hard. I used PC's for my sport bikes and never could get them perfect. Didnt want to chance it with the Harley. I am very satisfied with the Thundermax and not just b/c I have one. It really does work as advertised.
Look I've had the PCIII sinceI got this bike last year.
I have problems with the bike occasionally dying.
Idle seems higher sometimes than other times.
I have a couple of friends who have the same problems.
It's seems I can never get it completly worked out.
I don't hate it,I just wonder if there is something better out there.
Also the sound of an "Auto-tune Module" is inviting considering I'd like to do
some engine mods ( head work and cams) and I don't trust anyone but myself to tune or work on my bike.
Let's hear your thoughts.
Is the correct map installed? Has the bike been dynoed? Is this a canned map? Are there any other issues you have ruled out? (ignition, other downloads on ECM, injectors, etc.), Has someone who doesn't know what they're doing messed with it?
I have used the pc III and i took it off today and installedthe tmax w/ auto tune and what a difference i have wasted over $500.00 on dyno tunes from two different places and was never happt till today
I'm kinda hopin' the price will come down eventualy. Hopefully the other aftermarket manufacturers will come out with competing systems and we'll start seein more reasonable prices. Hey, it worked with plasma TV's.
I have the Tmax on my 07 WG and I have to say I'm not completely satisfied. Sometimes it runs great and sometimes it doesn't. I've worked with the tech guys at Zippers (good guys by the way) but it's still not right. The main problems are unstable idle and some serious popping on deceleration. The guys at Zippers tell me it may be the exhaust I'm using (vance & hines slip ons with stock header pipes). They tell me they are currently working on this combination and I'm not the only one with this problem. I'm planning to switch to a 2 into 1 set up. Hopefully that will cure it. I will say that when the bike is running well, it really hauls the mail. It's just not consistent enough, but then again, I'm pretty picky. All in all, I'd buy the Tmax again, or maybe the DTT unit, as I think this is the only way to truly have control over engine output. The PCIII, Fuelpak, et al are just tricking the system and there is no real way to know what's going on. With the Tmax at least I can plug in my laptop and take a look at all the engine parameters.
I ordered my thundermax with a combined order (2 friends), and wouldn't you know it, mine was defective
bike would not start.... the other 2 bikes are running perfect....
Sending my thundermax back for an exchange, easterperformance has best price....
I almost bought the Terminal Velocity II, but i seen a few people had problems......
So with all the info being: Few people with problems - not many people even have it - I emailed
the site for a few questions and never received a reply - only warrantied for 6months ?
