I tried the terry part and it worked great for about 500 miles and then it corupted the ecm, Thunderbird Harley Davidson worked hard at getting me back on the road. I took it off, they re-mapped the ecm and we were on the way. Terry ntook it back, gave me a new one, american classic motors took it back and sold me a t-max for the difference and I installed it, now the scoot is running the way I think the MOCO would have designed it too. Very happy with the t-max.....Ride like the wind if you can
I have a pc3 with a custom tune and the bike is way faster thasn i thought and runs great in all weather, but i think if i had it to do all ofer again i would get the tmax it would be the same price as a pc3 and a good dyno tune
Wide band, closed loop systems have to be the way to go, but if you've got a PC the dyno tune is a must. I tried tweaking various maps to match my exhaust/AF configuration, but it wasn't until I had it run on the dyno that the bike came to life, and is much more driveable and economical as a result: 76 hp + 80 ft/lbs.
I've got a PCIII usb, and while I like it, I will be getting the ThunderMax with AT. The PCIII operates on the principle of altering the fuel management and eliminates the 02 sensors feedback, which BTW, are narrow band only. For most efficient fuel/air ratio for given rpm/load conditions, a dyno-tune is often required. The TM/AT uses the principle of wide-band 02 sensors which automatically adjust the fuel/air ratio according to rpm/load. This is more effective. The price of a PCIII with several hours of dyno run time will set you back more than what the price of a TM/AT. Also, you may never get the PCIII dialed in correctly to what your combination of performanced options might be.
I installed the t-max on mine last spring. Best money I have spent on the bike yet. In my opinion it runs the way it should if epa didn't put the clamps on the factory.
Has anyone put a Terminal velocity on a 2008 fly-by-wire bike yet? \\; I am running the PC III and it is ok, but my local indy is suggesting I go to ththe TV II. \\;
And, does the new TV II have connections already allowing it to be a snap in install?
