So coming here because I dont know what to do at this point. I bought a 99 superglide this past week and the only problem is a bad turn light bulb on the left side. Well I go to replace it and following replacement I obviously test it to make sure it works just fine however for some reason neither of the tail lights light up now with normal running light, no break lights come in and no turn signals. The front is acting weird now as well. With one having the main filament lit Vice the running light filament and turn signals not working. They are after market signals and I will attach a picture below. I installed new 1157 bulbs in all 4 but for some reason it didnt fix the issue and seams to have only caused more problems. Voltage is good and there is power to the lights but as soon as the bulbs go in it acts as if there is not power at all. Any and all help welcome. Thank yall in advance!
Interesting...first thing to check in any electrical issues is the charging system. Just to rule it out. I have seen some strange issues happen...when researched it turned out to be loose battery cables. So start there. Clean inspected and relighted.
if you still have issues, you might have an open wire somewhere making contact causes the bulbs to go Squirrley .
chech the wiring under the rear fender....especially if the bike has been lowered.
let us know how you make it...you might just need an load equalizer
