I had the HD touring seat with backrest on my '05 wide glide up until this season (not a Sundowner, but certainly an upgrade from stock). I put the Mustang Wide Solo with backrest on and like it very much.
Once thing I noticed, just this weekend... I rode for the first time without the backrest, and the seat moves you back at least an inch, if not more... I have extended forward controls and just about couldn't reach them! I guess I should be surprised, I had to much with the handlebar adjustment a bit after getting the seat as well.
I only have one day of over 100 miles with this seat so far (150 miles), but I can tell its a lot better than what I had.
Most people that don't like the Corbin complain about it being too hard - flip side for Corbin fans thinking the Mustangs are too soft. Funny thing is, our butts are all different, so...
Though its hard to tell from a quick sit, try to sit on both and see what your butt has to say about each from that.
Never ridden with a corbin but haven't ever sat on one that felt good either. Mustang is a great seat I have had several and you can go all day once these suckers are broken in.
I had a Corbin Classic solo with an Ovalbac onthe last bike and have a Mustang solo with backrest onthe present bike. I think the Mustang is more comfortable being softer and wider, but itdoessit you up higher than the Corbin. The Corbin got real uncomfortable for me after riding more than 100 miles, it was too narrow and too HARD. Mustang is cheaper, but it's vinyl and the Corbin is leather. Both are very well made.
yep.so many opinions on seats. i been down the raod with them all. for me , the sundowner is tops. i got to say though , different seats for different butts. caution if you buy on line , make sure the yhave a good return policy in case you hate the seat .
case in point here,i recently bought a mutang seat and did not like it . had to return it .mustang has a 10 day try it and no charge if you send it back. good luck .

Seats are a not easy to choose from for the street bob. Well, when I did my research, it was a decision between what HD offered or custom, and the choice of leather orvinyl material.
Choice was a CORBIN, leather solo.... Its not as cushy as the standard streetbob seat. Its very much a hard *** seat for sure. If your looking for soft and tushy right from the day of purchase,,,,, go with a Harley option,, Sundowner.....you may be able to exchange if not happy, not sure what Mustang offers.. The Corbin is a high quality chair for sure and you pay for it, but its not a sofa.
