Default Rear Shock Setting

I'm looking for any info on setting my rear shocks. Does anyone know the stock setting, and what weight is that setting for. I'm 205 and I seem to bottom out more then I would like, not to mention when the GF is along for the ride.

measure the shock at static rest upright. Now sit on the bike and measure again. There should be 3/4 to 1 inch compression. Adjust the same for two up riding.

On a 1-5 preload, they come stock set at three. Shocks are pretty easy to change, upgrade.

Mine was on 2 when I got it. With the wife on it would bottom out. Solo was springy and jumped in corners. I went to 4 and the wife complained of bumps transmitted directly to her back side. I noticed it no longer jumped in corners and was throwing me off seat on the pressure ridges on the road. I put it on 3 and that seems to be a good compromise between taking bumps and not jumping in corners. I'm 206 and the wife is, well, less.

My original shocks had to be set all the way to 5 to keep from bottoming out. I only weigh 220 so I think they were crap myself. I put progressive 412s on and the bike handles so much better.

that's what soo nice about dynas, easy to adjust, if you have a spanner wrench or adjustment tool. if 1 is the softest then 5 will be the firmest. i think with two up you will be fine with it set at three, if to firm maybe two also adjustrear tire for two up, don't forget to put tire back to solo pressure for one rider. i've also put 10w fork oil up front. it put the GLIDE back in superglide.
