Performance and sound / short pipe he should check out a rb racing prostock 2n1. They have a short version, available with or w/o a baffle and if needed he can get 2 inch primaries. It ain't your grandpa's pipe. They sound mean as fk. Not sure what the build is....
Id agree with dynakids suggestion in shortening your TH. Id also highly recommend the d&d fatcat. It sounds a little different than the TH but they sound mean as hell. And with the performance baffle they are loud as ****.
Lets start with what your "build" is going to be first. I don't see those details, like motor plan or bike (I could assume the bike is the RG in your pic tho)
Second, just a preface I am and have been for a long time a diehard TH fanboy. Ive only ran them on my Harleys, from stock to fully build twin cams and evos. If you love your TH sound, like said already, you flat out are not going to like the Fab 28 in comparison, additionally I will go as far as to say ALL of those shorty cone style pipes (fab 28, Sawicki, even Bassani) sound very similar, especially in the way the differ from TH. I don't really know how to describe their sound other than not TH haha, but that's not to say any of them are bad in anyway, hell the quality of all of them are better than TH. You can also get them in stepped or straight 2" primaries which are a MUST if you plan on going bigger than 113" or so on your motor.
I only recently strayed away from TH and that was because I needed larger primary headers for my 131 evo FXR and TH flat out doesn't offer it unless you are a bagger. So I shopped and asked around for months and finally bought the LSR pro stock from RB Racing. All I gotta say is holy sh*t! It sounds like a TH on steroids, no joke. Im a believer in the LSR and while I still love my TH I have to say I am very pleased.
So WTF does all this really translate to you for options? haha. Well if you are mildly building your motor in your RG, meaning no need for larger primaries, Id say shorten your TH if you really want a shorter pipe instead of buying another brand, although I don't think you will see any benefit of a shorter pipe. If building larger than 113 or so Id say the X series full length TH would be best to keep that sound you said you love
Thanks guys!! Lot's of good feedback. I thought about shortening my TH, but thought that I would be cutting it down too much for the length I want. Also wanted a little shorter rear cone piece, and I'm guessing I shouldn't mess with that? I know I can't check all the boxes, and know the sound may differ from my TH. I'm just not wanting to loose volume. I would even take more volume, if I can get that too. I am only going to a shorter pipe because my build has new wheels, brake caliper and mount, axle changes, and swing arm changes that I would like to see. So I don't want the TH length for that reason. Maybe stupid and my OCD kicking in, but there it is.
TBR looks good and is definitely a contender
RB Racing doesn't appeal to me looks wise, but RB doesn't care about anything but performance. Bought stuff from him before, and he is quite blunt of what he is building parts for "performance". Great guy and very knowledgeable!
Sawicki was another I was looking at.
DD Fatcat I will check into as well

Sorry, I did forget some details. 2015 Street Bob, 103 motor with mild cam not sure previous owner. PC5 tuner, and AC upgrade. Not looking to do any drastic motor work. Reasons for changing the pipe are in my last post. Thanks for your input!
sounds like youre more interested in looks over anything else, not meaning that in a sh*t talking way its your bike you can do what ever you want to it. I think over all volume wise is going to be pretty close to the same on those shorty cones as they are very similar in baffle design, and if I remember right they are slightly quitter, but albeit slightly deeper in sound at idle than a TH. Pretty much everything decent is loud about 3K rpm so Id say go with one that is going to match the look you're going for. The "hot" thing right now is the stainless pipes showing off the welds etc, so in that the Sawicki or fab 28 would be a good fit. I personally f*ckin hate the look haha I prefer smooth bends, blended welds and either chrome or black, but Im an old soul haha In my day good welds were the ones you couldn't even tell were there

The look is important, but not my driving factor. I kept the TH on even though I think its an Fugly pipe. Whatever pipe I use will be black ceramic coated. Would prefer heat shields but open to pipes without. I like the performance of the bike and dont want to lose any of that, but not building a hot rod dyna. The only thing that I wanted out of this was to see all of my rear wheel. Do you think I could remove that much of the TH and not effect the performance?
A have a Superpipe from Horsepower Inc. San Diego Customs also offers them. I believe they offer one in black. I have the stainless version that I switched to from a TBR. Love the sound and performance. Not obnoxious when at idle but is pretty rowdy when you punch it. Also short enough to show off my brakes and custom wheels.
majority of the cone on a TH has a square baffle inside it, I think you would pretty much have to lose that baffle to go real short and that will def affect sound a performance, which way it will affect it I don't know but you would essentially have a freeflow exhast which on your build I think might drop the TQ noticeably. This is all just thought I don't have direct experience
