Default extra slack for headlight wiring

I'm trying to install a Krator T sport fairing on my 07 fxdl. I have a moonsmc headlight block and the headlight doesn't have enough slack in the wire to reach the mounting point on the block. The wiring only needs a couple of more inches to reach. Any ideas on how to remedy this would be much appreciated.

There should be more than enough length in the frame to pull out, if not you'll be getting out the solder

I ran into this issue as well - continue gently pulling and massaging it - it'll come out

It was also made easier by removing both left and right side rubber grommets, and pulling out some of the wiring on the left-hand side. After the left-hand side wiring was pulled out a bit, the headlight wire seemed to snake out way easier. If it feels like its tangled and wont give any more, pull the folded harness and shove it around a bit to create some extra room. Mine had about 6-10" of extra wire in there for the controls and taller bars - pretty big rat nest in there. But, that's how I got the headlight wire out and extended far enough to reach. After it was pulled out of the frame neck, there was about 2-4" from the female connector to the frame of excess wire to work with. Definitely the most difficult part of the Krator fairing install.

Excellent!! I was pulling my hair out (what I have left anyway) trying to figure out how to get more slack. You solved the mystery for me and I do appreciate it.

That’s the news we all like to read on a Friday @Jim8208

Post the installed fairing pictures in the “Krator T-shirt fairing” thread when you can. We’d love to see em

If the service loop plan falls thru you can always use (or make) an extension...assuming a cut-n-splice is objectionable.

Thanks for the suggestion cggorman. I did manage to coax enough of the wire out to mount the headlight on the block. Finished installing the fairing a little while ago. Will post pics soon.
