Default Do spacers need to be shortened after intiminator/preload adjuster install?

Installed the intiminators and preload adjusters on my 2006 dyna. Does the spacer need to be shortened? The cap seems ridiculously tough to get on. Thanks!

Do they "have" to be. No. However ricor recommends you shorten the spacer by 5/8 to compensator for the intiminator

Even just adding preload adjusters I had to trim my spacer. The added washer and just overall added thickness of the adjuster itself made it quite a bit taller than the stock set-up.

I have installed the ricors on 2 dynas, one I trimmed and one I didn't. and I liked the way it felt without trimming

I did it like this. tube cap in impact but not even hooked up to air, you can push down really dam hard from above that way and then twist that big *** socket by hand
