It's strange that the work done only required the outer primary cover to be taken off and the leak is behind the inner primary. If there is a leak, it was either there before and no one said anything or they induced it with the work on the stator and compensator. My money is on they didn't replace the inner primary gasket. In any case the the bearing issues were rectified by the 2007 Dynas. You just have a gasket or seal leak. If you do the work yourself to replace the gaskets and seals you might be out $150 for the oil, gaskets, and seals. Takes maybe 2-3 hours work.

Ronald,
I'm going to try to be diplomatic about this. You stated that your mech told you it could be a gasket or a shift seal. It sounded like leaning toward the shift seal. In 2007 wide glides came with forward controls, just like in your pic. Mine is the same. This means that unless someone has replaced your primary, there is no shift seal. You might want to look for a different wrench, or like suggested above, take a trip to the tool store and save a buncha bux.

I'm confused by the logic that there is no shift seal. The shift seal is on the transmission where the shift arm enters. You may be thinking of the shift shaft tower gasket which a Wide Glide would not have unless someone swapped the primary to put on mids.

You are right. I read it as the shift seal passing through the primary for mids. I've got a bad habit of reading too fast because I've got so little time to do it.
When I first read this I was having a hard time trying to understand why it was hard to figure out where the leak was coming from. I thought, "is it leaking tyranny fluid from the primary, or 90 weight from the tyranny?".
Sorry for potentially leading anyone down the wrong path.
