Default Riser and bar questions

Hey everyone,

I have a 2014 FXDWG and it has the stock 4.5" risers on it. I am looking at adding taller bars and a cable kit.

Question is would I be ok using the stock risers with 6" tall bars? If so, would I be needing a 12" cable kit for this?

I added these with the stock cables, http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/2-in...2-sft-rsrs.htm but it was tight, think 6" bars will need longer cables.

I was looking at these as it may give me just enough height. I don't want much just a bit more. How did the front brake cable to ABS block fit with these?

I took the stock risers off my 2006 Fxdi and installed 6" Night Train bars and didn't have to change cables. I did have to lengthen the wiring for the speedometer though. I liked the increased height but I'm still not satisfied. I think I want more like 12" height. I think for now I may try the DK customs 3" riser extensions to get to 9" and see how I like that until I decide on what bars I really want. I like T-bars and I also like the Roland Sands Vintage bars. I hope I can get away with 3 more inches without changing cables.

I don't like the look of tall risers and taller bars. You want height?, lower the risers and get taller bars. JMO
So 2" risers with 10" bars should work with stock everything.

break lines fit fine, don't think you could go much taller with stock cables.

Would the DK handlebar riser extensions work to extend Nighttrain stock bars? I'm not sure that's exactly what they are meant for but I guess it would work to add another three inches. I guess I'm being a little tight waded but I don't want to spend $300+ on handlebars right now especially since I'm not certain what I want.

Thanks for all the advice. I decided after much looking to go with 14" chiseled bars, 2" riser and a Burly cable kit. Wish me luck. This will be my first major upgrade to the bike.

Good choice on the 2" risers with tall bars.

Thanks. According to Burly the 14" kit is based on using a 2" riser. I ordered a one-piece top type riser since the bars are 1 1/4 and 1" in the clamp area.
