Wide glide ape center width help!!
I’m trying to buy a pair of 16 inch apes this week looking for 1 1/4 that will work with the stock clamp. My problem is I don’t know what center width to go with so that the bars don’t hang out past the forks. Way to many bar choices out there I don’t want to buy the wrong set up.

Years ago Dennis Kirk catalog had Flanders bars for sale, with a full chart of dimensions including the bottom width you seek. Google both of them see what you find, I know what you are saying, those super wide bars hanging over the upper tree looks silly. Good luck.

Well I ended up going with a 10” center width 17” rise and 11” pull back. Hoping I will like the fit. Only time will tell now. I’m hoping I am right by saying center width is from inside of the bar to inside of the other bar at the mounts? If this is the case it should put them at 10” + the 2 1/2 for the thickness of the bars? Am I doing this right? So the over all width at the clamps would be 12 1/2 to the out side?
