I have a 2015 FXDL I purchased about 18 months ago. It had 53 miles on it. I paid $9K. I thought that was a great deal. I love the bike ! I also think you'll like the further forward mids. I have a Wide Glide with forward controls and these feel completely different. The further forward mids make it a bit difficult to stand on the pegs, but it can be done. They feel perfect in the turns. All in all, they're a great bike.
Thanks. That was my hope, but after talking to a dealer, they were saying both inner and outer primary and $800.......
Unless they are actual forward controls where they changed the inner and outer primary to get rid of the shifter shaft, the dealer is smoking something good telling you that. If they are the stock further-forward mid controls, you do NOT need to change the primary out. Peg mounts, shift lever, brake pedal/rod and you're done...honestly, it's something you could most likely do yourself with time and basic tools...
