Default 2014 FXDL Question/s

Hello, new member here.

Looking at picking up my first HD, it's a black 2014 FXDL with 4,500 miles, Mint condition, stock and senior owned.

My first question, what is involved changing the FXDL's "forward mids" to the standard mids? Does the primary cover need to be changed?

My second question, what would be a good price for this bike? Checked NADA and KBB, just looking for real world.

Thanks

I have a 2015 FXDL I purchased about 18 months ago. It had 53 miles on it. I paid $9K. I thought that was a great deal. I love the bike ! I also think you'll like the further forward mids. I have a Wide Glide with forward controls and these feel completely different. The further forward mids make it a bit difficult to stand on the pegs, but it can be done. They feel perfect in the turns. All in all, they're a great bike.

I have 2014 lr and the mids are really close to the mids that were on my 06, so close I forgot it even is different.

anyway I am guessing but I would think the peg brackets, shift lever, shift linkage and brake lever. super easy

Unless they are actual forward controls where they changed the inner and outer primary to get rid of the shifter shaft, the dealer is smoking something good telling you that. If they are the stock further-forward mid controls, you do NOT need to change the primary out. Peg mounts, shift lever, brake pedal/rod and you're done...honestly, it's something you could most likely do yourself with time and basic tools...
